Letting go of Judgement March 7, 2010

Filed under: Retreat Updates — melissacameron @ 4:09 am

When someone does something that you deem inappropriate or ‘wrong’ do you find yourself condeming or judging them?  Many of us struggle with the whole idea of acceptance and non-judgement.  Let’s just stop a minute to consider how our judgement can hurt or help.  When we are judging another person, we are using our belief systems and placing them on top of the other person’s.  We are saying that based on our belief system, they are wrong and shouldn’t be doing something.  However, when we are judging another we can stop and remember how it feels to be judged ourselves.  Is it really any of your business to make judgements about another person’s journey through life?  Do you think this helps you or the other person at all?

Also, consider how you feel when you are judged?  Do you ever find yourself changing a behavior in public or in a crowd of certain friends to avoid judgement?  What if you could be yourself and not worry about it at all?  Wouldn’t that be refreshing?  Consider how hurtful judgement can be on yourself the next time the temptation comes up.  Also, remember that you do not know the full details of another’s life, therefore you don’t have all of the facts to decide if what they are doing is right or wrong – no matter what they are doing!

More discussion about this at the upcoming May Holistic Mothering Retreat!  Live life happier, more fulfilling and with more love in your own place of acceptance and unconditional love.
